We've Got Your Back
A Back To Health Clinic Newsletter November & December 2008ORTHOTICS: Save Your Back From the Ground Up!
by Dr. Jeff Baker
The longitudinal and transverse arches of the foot provide for proper support and distribution of the body's weight throughout the foot. When there are incorrect angles at the heel, weak musculature, or high or low arches, abnormal forces begin to create inflammation and pain within the soft tissues of the joints, and will affect everything above it.
Symptoms of foot problems can be diverse, and may not always be in the foot. When compensation for foot problems is required of structures above, it can result in pain and dysfunction at the knees, hips, back, neck, and even headaches.
Orthopedic foot supports are called "orthotics." They are created by one of the doctors at this office taking a mold of the foot in the neutral non-weight bearing position. Your custom made foot imprint will be used to construct a one-of-a-kind supportive insole for your shoe from that exactly fits your foot and supports your foot properly to avoid abnormal wear, tear, and pain. It can be used in casual, dress, or work shoes, and there are multiple options for flexible/stiff supports of varying length, depending on your specific need. These orthotics are constructed to last you years, and are highly recommended over the neutral one-size-fits-all types of arch supports sold in stores. The cost of these orthotics will vary, but expect to pay around $160-200 or so for a good custom pair.
Congratualtions Tiffany on the birth of a son, Ronin on September 10th. Ronin weighed in at 7lbs, 11oz, and was 19 3/4" in length. We had two winners in the three different categories of our baby guessing game. One patient won two categories - good job Mrs. Falconer.

Our limited time referral program is in full swing! Have you referred someone and received your gift yet?
Patients who recommend us to others who are in need of chiropractic care will receive a great thank-you gift for the referral. Pick up a referral certificate at the front desk and when you write your name on it as the referral source, we will know who to thank with either A FREE CHIROPRACTIC TREATMENT or A FREE HOUR MASSAGE-you choose! As an added bonus, your friend will receive their initial consultation and exam FREE! Any care to treat their problem will be normal cost, but the initial expenses of getting established as a patient are taken care of, because you cared enough to refer them.
It's a win-win-win. Your friends get started for care with no upfront exam costs, you get a free gift of chiropractic care or massage for referring them, and our practice grows with other great people like you. This is our way of saying thank you to our loyal patients who recommend us to others they care about. Give the gift of health this holiday season. There is no limit to the number of thank you gifts you can receive for referring others who become a new patient (and receive their initial exam FREE as well). Who do you know?
Congratulations Tiffany on the
